Description
It consists of a high central nave and three chapels on each side. Heavily damaged during the war, was rebuilt losing its precious frescoes. In its interior, the relic of St. Rocco, patron of the city, is preserved.
The marble statue of the Canova school artist Fabio Provinciali, made in 1887, is dedicated to the Saint. Sculptor and ceramist Angelo Biancini’s bronze door has been modeled and carried out in 1981 in Verona foundries.
The two ceramic bas-relief fascias depict Cisterna’s events: exodus from the grottos, battles, San Rocco winner on the plague.
Inside, you can admire “Il Cristo”, central panel depicting Jesus surrounded by the Holy Spirit, stars and holy books, “l’Assunta” and the “Via Crucis” made by 14 panels, always all realized by Angelo Biancini.
