Description
The Fontana Biondi was realized by the sculptor Ernesto Biondi between 1885 and 1890, it is a nineteenth-century bourgeois realism’s example. On top the “Bella Ninfa” soars, probably the goddess Feronia, who raises with the arm an olive branch in victory of good over evil – or of reclaiming over the marsh and the malaria - depicting as a chained and lying under the feet demonic figure.
The sculpture is supported by granite boulders and Trentino’s stalactites, with young shepherds and cattle sculptures, mutilated by war. A circular basin with bleachers is situated on the base, surrounded by a wooded garden.
